About Me

I have always had my eyes set traveling the world; there is just so much out there to see and experience, why not explore it. Being young in the current world that we all live in had many advantages, with the best being that the world is at my feet. The past few years as a college student afforded me the opportunity to work and study abroad on a few occasions, opportunities that I jumped at. With a month-long stay in the Republic of Georgia while working at the Human Rights Center and a summer stay in Nepal living and working at Himalayan Children Care Home, I am itching to work abroad again. After graduating from Mount Holyoke College last May with a B.A. in International Relations, I planned on embarking on a year-long adventure of teaching in Tanzania, but life had other plans. After a year and half since my trip to Nepal, I am finally off on another international adventure. This time for four months in the Central American country of Panama. As a semester long volunteer with World Teach, I will spend the next four months living with a host family and teaching English at a local school in Panama. On Monday, February 6, 2012, I will be departing for Panama with the second generation of volunteers heading off for work in Panama. So stay tuned in to the blog if you want to hear stories about life and teaching in paradise – it’s sure to be an interesting ride.
